The question they ask you when you say I am going to live in a tiny home!” is: why would you do it?

A few days ago, a friend of mine sent me an article in which I found some very surprising results of a study done about tiny home lovers!

“56% of Americans say they would live in a tiny home. 86% of first-time home buyers would consider a tiny home for their first home.

  • 72% of home buyers would consider buying a tiny home as an investment property.
  • Most appealing factors of tiny home living are:
  • 1. Affordability
  • 2. Efficiency
  • 3. Eco-friendliness
  • 4. Minimalist lifestyle
  • 5. The ability to downsize.”

I’ve spent more than 20 years working in almost every facet of the building world, including concrete, foundations, log homes, custom homes, and metal roofing. Over the years, that hands-on experience grew into broader roles involving commercial hotel projects, permitting, residential project management, and modular construction. Having seen the process from so many angles, I write to share practical, real-world insight and help people understand what it actually takes to make their tiny home dreams come true.
